Re: [uCsimm] libc Problem with Suse 7.2 and uClinux CD

Date: Tue Jul 24 2001 - 12:40:52 EDT

After a prolonged absence from uClinux, I have re-started my work by trying
to get a uCsimm up and running. I have purchased a uCsimm and uClinux CD.

I have just installed Suse Linux 7.2 and I am trying to install the uClinux
RPMs as instructed in the uClinux manual, pages 17 and 18.

When I run "make" in the /cdrom/RPMS/libc6 directory, I get the following

        rpm -i m68k-coff-binutils-2.9.1-1.i386.rpm
        rpm -i m68k-coff-gcc-
        rpm -i m68k-pic-coff-binutils-2.9.1-1.i386.rpm
        rpm -i m68k-pic-coff-gcc-
        rpm -i uC-libc-0.9.1-1.i386.rpm
        rpm -i uC-libm-0.9.1-1.i386.rpm
        rpm -i uClinux-
        rpm -i uC-src-0.9.2-2.i386.rpm
        error: failed dependencies:
      is needed by uC-src-0.9.2-2

I am not at all familiar with the RPM machanisms, so I would appreciate some
help with this. I have tried searching the archives and the nearest I could
find was someone having the same problems with RedHat 7.0. Suse 7.2 is
supposed to support libc5 out of the box.

The output of "ldd /bin/ls" is: => /lib/ (0x40022000)
        /lib/ => /lib/ (0x40000000)

Which is why I tried installing from the libc6 directory on the CD.
