I am not sure, but I think your problem is about DTR
signal. It should be as "Ignore DTR" with AT&D0, as
far as I remember.

Try to condigure your modem manually with a Terminal,
ignoring DTR and connect it to the UCsimm. If It is
not OK check DTR and RTS signals.
