Still pretty slow though. I am on a few egroups.com mailing lists with from
700-3000 people and emails sent to the list take no more than 5-10 minutes.

It seems to take a long time because what you send to the list has to be
e-mailed out to thousands(?) of people. When I post something to the list, I
usually see it in about half an hour, because I added myself to it well over
a year ago and I'm higher up in it because of that.
