Can anyone enlighten me on why output is so slow on the ucsimm?

ls /dev or running a real short program like

  for (;;)
    printf("Hello World\n");

prints out in chunks with big pauses.

doing cat /proc/meminfo is slow almost character by charcter.

things are a bit better from telnet than the serial port...

2-3 Mips and it cant keep 9600 baud full?
