Greetings,

First, you need a proper cross over cable so that TX, RX are swapped for
each other.

Next, on both machines you can run this command:
pppd /dev/cua0 9600 crtscts defaultroute

I don't know that this works on the uCsimm, but it works on other Linux
boxes.
