I'm not sure why you would need 6v in to drive ethernet. I drive mine
with 5v and it works fine. (I do what the other poster suggests - I
have a bunch of 5v logic, so I have a battery regulated to 5v, and then
run the 5v into the uCgardener that it regulates to 3.3v for the uCsimm).
