I'm trying to get a grasp on the different flavours of uClinux and the toolset. m68k-coff and m68k-pic-coff (position independent code) seem to be the older style of doing things. The references I've found to using the new toolset and uClinux-2.4.0 seem to focus on m68k-elf. Is this correct? Is the elf variant already position independent? I'm trying to find a list of targets which binutils and gcc support. I can't seem to find any. Is there a comprehensive list somewhere? Also I'm wondering about the various Motorola 68000-series processors. I've been around Motorola's site but they don't seem to spell out in plain terms just WHAT is the difference between the "plain" 68000 core and the DragonBall (EZ/VZ), ColdFire and other variants is. I get the sneaking suspicion I'm just blind but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Can anyone enlighten me?
