The driver source is linked at the bottom of the Software section of Motorola's M5272C3 Product Summary Page at: http://e-www.motorola.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=M5272C3& parentCode=MCF5272&releaseLevel=null&nodeId=01M9 (Sorry for the long URL). It's labeled "USBUCLINUXSW - M5272C3 uClinux kernel with the USB software incorporated. Includes USB source and uClinux object code." https://e-www.motorola.com/webapp/Download?colCode=USBUCLINUXSW&prodCode =M5272C3&nodeId=01M9&appType=license&location=psp Here's the whitepaper describing the driver: http://e-www.motorola.com/collateral/USB%20UCLINUX%20DRIVER_V03.pdf It seems as though they've put a click-wrap license and registration to restrict access the USB driver source in the past few weeks. A few weeks ago, I was able to download the source _without_ agreeing to their "Extranet Agreement" (i.e. Confidentiality Agreement) and I haven't agreed to it yet. Here is their license boilerplate at the top of each of the source files: /********************************************************************* * * Copyright: * MOTOROLA, INC. All Rights Reserved. * You are hereby granted a copyright license to use, modify, and * distribute the SOFTWARE so long as this entire notice is * retained without alteration in any modified and/or redistributed * versions, and that such modified versions are clearly identified * as such. No licenses are granted by implication, estoppel or * otherwise under any patents or trademarks of Motorola, Inc. This * software is provided on an "AS IS" basis and without warranty. * * To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MOTOROLA * DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING * IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR * PURPOSE AND ANY WARRANTY AGAINST INFRINGEMENT WITH REGARD TO THE * SOFTWARE (INCLUDING ANY MODIFIED VERSIONS THEREOF) AND ANY * ACCOMPANYING WRITTEN MATERIALS. * * To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, IN NO EVENT * SHALL MOTOROLA BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING * WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS * INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION, OR OTHER PECUNIARY * LOSS) ARISING OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE. * * Motorola assumes no responsibility for the maintenance and support * of this software ********************************************************************/ It seems as though I can go ahead and send it to someone to mirror it, doesn't it? But as for inclusion into the uClinux tree, who knows? Cheers, David Chan This message resent by the uclinux-dev@uclinux.org list server http://www.uClinux.org/
